Bring an idea. Something unique gets made.

Kate Swan in her studio

The work
starts with
curiosity.

I've always been drawn to things that aren't supposed to go together. Metal and wood. Glass and living moss. The camera and the torch. I work out of a small studio in Philadelphia where most things end up on the floor before they end up on the wall.

Each discipline feeds the others. The patience woodworking demands. The decisiveness welding requires. The stillness of looking through a lens. I don't separate them — they're all the same conversation.

I take commissions for sculptural work, furniture, custom terrariums, and photography. If you have a strange idea, I'm probably interested.
